Default Question about storage of humalog.

I think I have lost my mind. Oh, this is a question about vials, not pens.
I always thought we had to store the vials in the fridge whether opened or unopened.

Now I am reading that it's okay to keep opened bottles of insulin at room temperature?

When did the rules change?

When I first started the vials 20 years ago I distinctly remember being told to keep them in the fridge (whether they are open or not).

And when I was in the ACCORD program IN 2005 they supplied all vials and I was told to keep them in the fridge at all times.

Someone please put me out of my misery and tell me if I was misinformed all those years ago. Thanks much

I had never been told to keep open vials of insulin at room temp.
