I wish I could go back in time because I have dental issues in three teeth resulting from childhood accidents. The first is a front tooth and a tooth next to it that chipped when I was a teenager when I fell while rollerblading. At the time the dentist did a root canal on the front tooth and I guess capped the one next to it (no root canal on it based on xrays). The root canal on the front tooth ended up failing despite trying to save it with an apicoectomy and I ended up having to extract it and get a dental implant. So far so good but I am not happy with the way the crown looks and I don't like that I can basically floss over the crown. The tooth next to it is now starting to have a dull ache that comes and goes, but I know if I go to my dentist they will want to do a root canal and crown on it so I'm not sure what to do.

Then I have a bottom tooth next to one of the front teeth that was also chipped when an object hit it when I was 9 years old, the dentist did a root canal at the time, eventually I also needed an apicoectomy and it recently failed last year and was extracted, what triggered it is when I bit something hard and it must have set off an infection in the root canal. I tried to get a dental implant put in this past August, but for some reason I ended up with severe pain a little over a week after placement and it was taken out shortly after. My oral surgeon wants to try again next month but I am worried this will happen again. I saw my dentist a few weeks ago for a cleaning and explained the situation and she suggested I try the implant again because she does not recommend a bridge because I am fairly young (33) and that would involve shaving down the adjacent two teeth and may result in root canals in those...

I did read and ask about a Maryland Bridge in case this implant fails again, which doesn't involve shaving down the teeth but she said it most likely would not be covered by insurance and she cannot guarantee that it will last. Does anyone on here have experience with a Maryland Bridge?

I'm just so frustrated and tired of having to deal with pain and spending all of this money...
