I also want to say how sorry I am. Sending my thoughts
and prayers to your whole family, especially your mom and
dad. Personally I'm so glad your dad was with your mom.

When it comes to going to the area. I think since you think
she didn't want a service. It would be okay to go when you
think your mom needs it more.
