It was freezing out yesterday! It was 25 degrees out, but the wind was so fierce it was blowing my parked car around. Not a fun day to go grocery shopping, but I got it done. I skipped my trip to the butcher shop tho.
At the store, I ran into a former neighbor (of 4yrs) from where Corey and I had our first apartment together. He and his wife were such nice people. If he hadn't recognized me, I never would have recognized him. The last 10 years have not been kind to him and he looks nothing like he did in the past. I was so sorry to hear that his wife passed away last year from cancer- shortly after they were finally able to buy the house of their dreams. He is struggling mightily with hip problems. It was good to see him again, but it was also very sad.
Speaking of neighbors, I'm praying the people in the apartment above us aren't planning on having a Super Bowl party. Their parties (usually 3 times a week) were getting rowdier and rowdier until I went upstairs a couple of weeks ago to express my displeasure. Since then things have been a lot better, but they are big Pats fans and party animals, so...
Corey promised me he would take me to the furniture store today. Let's see how he tries to weasel his way out of it. I'm going to do the best I can to hold him to his promise. We talked about the king-sized bed, and he admitted it wouldn't fit. I hope I can talk him into a new mattress. Ours is about 10 years old and uncomfortable for me now. I can feel the coils when I lay on my stomach.
