I have suffered CRPS resulting from a work injury 15 years ago
It commenced years ago as a tennis elbow repetitive strain injury and within some weeks I noticed my hand 'shut down' and go into a claw like position
I saw several specialists experts in the field who confirmed the CRPS
Over the years I found my hand began to basically shut down further and I felt dismayed yet really surprised that this had happened like my hand had its own mind.
Many treatments were given in the way of painkillers Epelim and nowadays Lyrica.
Back then in this country Lyrica was not on the free list and it was about 90 dollars a script then fortunately it was put on the free list (reduced cost)
My injury is now 15 years old and my hand is messed up it is, boney yet swollen also at the joints, clawed including all digits and thumb, I hide it in my pocket and feel embarrassed by it. I am right hand dominant and used my right hand to look after myself and live life. I can minimally use my damaged hand and pain is still evident I still get the cold chilled hand and bluish color but the main damage is the deformity and inability to extend fingers and the claw effect.
Im just writing this as I would like to inform people who are working dont let others tell you it will clear up or dissaud you from your entitlements, I was seriously mislead out of my entitlements due to poor remarks and disgraceful conduct of the work care team who never believed me and infact one psychiatrist working for the insurer called me a 'liar', I am now after years of suffering and loss of my job and career applying for a benefit I never thought I was entitled to due to this workplace injury and the disbelief that others displayed to me at the time. Hopefully some recompense for the last 15 years of suffering. thankyou for reading I welcome your stories and experiences. Best wishes to you all dont give up.
