I went through a phase of these head jerks while falling asleep. It used to happen just as I started to relax. I occasionally get a small twitch but it seems to have passed, so hopefully it will be the same for you.

Concussion 28-02-2014 head butted a door edge. .
Symptoms overcome: Nausea, head pressure, debilitating fatigue, jelly legs, raised pulse rate, night sweats, restlessness, depersonalisation, anxiety, neck ache, depression.
Symptoms left: Disturbed sleep, some residual tinnitus.
