I honestly don't remember what I did during the day Friday. I was packing like a fiend. It's a blur. Never finished in the kitchen tho (I have a
TON of s-) cuz Corey wanted to go to bed early, and the sound of me taping boxes together/up was too loud for him.
Our upstairs neighbors were f'ing ridiculous that (Friday) night. There was no way Corey could sleep. Close to 11pm, he got out of bed frantic and angry, and absolutely insistent I call the police. He was so anxious and was yelling, so I had a hard time looking up the non-emergency number.
It was the first time we've called the police on them, and it was warranted. It's kinds f'ed up because it was our last night there.
Unfortunately, their guests left
right before the police officer arrived. He went up there and came down afterwards. He basically said that he could tell they were under the influence, but their guests had gone home, and they agreed to keep it down. But while the police officer was still in our apartment, they started banging again, so he went right back up there. I don't know what happened, but the police officer said he had to yell at them and tell them that the next time the police had to come, there would be 3 or 4 of them. After the officer left, they tried to test us a couple of times by banging a little. Corey was PO'ed, but I convinced him to let it go. He stayed up drinking, but I went to bed at about 1am. I had to be up at 5am at the latest to get s- done.
Yesterday (the next day), I got up at 5am and got right in the shower because the movers were coming at 8am, and I wasn't done packing yet. Then I went directly to Dunkin Donuts and bought some coffees because I can't function without it, and my Keurig was packed up.
Corey really didn't know what to do, but he did some things I couldn't do myself, and did things I asked him to do. I was on autopilot. The movers arrived a little early, but I had finished packing everything up with the exception of the essential bathroom items and half the kitchen by then, so I was not in their way. I finished packing the kitchen just as they moved in there to collect the boxes.
The movers were nice young men who worked fast and hard, and were very careful with our belongings. They finished an hour early, and we ended up paying almost $250 less than the estimate, so I was
very happy with that experience
After they left, I realized that Corey did take all that s- out to his truck (

) with the exception of one cat condo, which is in our new living room. He brought a lot of stuff over himself, but some of it was
garbage lol.
I started doing some unpacking right after the movers left, but paused for a while because the cable guy arrived over an hour early. I've unpacked the living room and bathroom, and have put all the boxes that belong in the office closet away, but the kitchen... that will take me forever. There are almost too many cabinets.
But aside from that, I can't believe how many boxes I've emptied already. It's unbelievable.
Then I took a 3+ hour nap. The first one I've had in a long time.
I thought Buddy would hide under the bed as soon as we let him out of his carrier, but he immediately went exploring, seemed very happy, and was very affectionate. Rocky, on the other hand, was hissing, growling, and swatting at us all day and night. He's over it today now, and is being
very affectionate and
really clingy.
There is a cat with a collar who kept coming up to our slider frequently last night. Buddy seems interested in him or her, but Rocky doesn't. I hope that the cat's presence doesn't lead to any territorial issues with my cats like urine marking.
Our new patio faces the woods and we have at least one squirrel out there, so they will like that.
I like the new apartment. There are things I don't like about it tho. I guess I will tell you about it later.
I have until the end of the month to clean the old place, but I only have until Tuesday afternoon to use the vacuum and carpet cleaner because Corey's going away Wednesday through Friday and I can't carry it out of the apartment myself.
