Since your legs felt better after the PT came, maybe a little range of motion exercises or stretching may help you when your legs hurt? Obviously not getting on the floor tho. Just bending your knees, straightening out your legs, pointing your toes, etc.
I get physically ill because of my anxiety, too. I ended up with an ulcer years ago. I have acid reflux, and take Protonix (by prescription only) now, and things have improved, but not 100%. Maybe you can ask for a prescription med next time you see your PCP because what you are taking over the counter is not working well enough for you
