Poor Jeff! I know he's already on a lot of meds, but I would get him some Mucinex for his chest congestion ASAP if he's not already on it, or something like it, because he's already really sick, and he doesn't need to get any sicker

I hope that the Zyrtec works and you find that you are/were just suffering from allergies- not catching anything from Jeff. Post nasal drip could account for the scratchy throat and cough. You may want to try regular nasal spray to help with that if you wake up in the morning and feel like the cough is just allergy-related.
