I was not calling out anyone in particular about laxatives. I just don’t want to hear about them at all on my thread please. It’s frustrating.

Bowel obstructions can be a result of scarring due to abdominal surgeries, and I’ve had 3: (all laparoscopic) removal of my gallbladder, removal of a big ovarian cyst along with burning off my Fallopian tubes, and most recently the subtotal colectomy. The obstruction that put me in the hospital was on the mid to lower area of my right side, where I still have been getting pain.

I never had pencil-thin stools prior to the bowel obstruction, but I had severe inflammation as a result of that, and an infection in my abdomen due to the bowel perforation, and sometimes tissues will stick together after things like that causing adhesions that can cause narrowings/obstructions. The new area of concern seems to be low on my left side... new, and possibly from that. I had no problems while I had D. I got in trouble when I started increasing the amount of fiber I was taking to control it.

Not having anything flow through my intestines for almost a week couldn’t have helped either.

I see Dr. Chen in a month. Maybe she will order some tests that will shed some light on the situation... IDK.
