Virginia Parkinson's Disease Symposium in September

The Hampton Roads Chapter of the American Parkinson's Disease Association will sponsor its 2007 Symposium, Managing Parkinson's—A Healthy Living Perspective. The event begins Friday, September 7 with registration and a social. If you have not attended a social with a group of people with Parkinson's disease, you are in for a pleasant surprise. The kinship is instant and sincere.

Saturday's schedule begins with breakfast from 7 to 8:30a.m. The symposium will begin at 8:45. The rest of the schedule is:

10:15 am Dave Heydrick, M.D. "Overview of the Parkinson's Pyramid"

11:00 am Kim Brooks, M.S. "Stress management in the Parkinson's Pyramid"

11:45 am Lunch

1:00 pm Dave Heydrick, M.D. "Symptom Management in the Parkinson's Pyramid"

1:30 pm Steve Sinclair, N.D. "Nutrition in the Parkinson's Pyramid"

2:30 pm Break

2:45 pm Bob Seymore "Exercise in the Parkinson's Pyramid"

3:45 pm Silent Auction and Close

Linda Sigmund, MD is a neurologist from Fairfax
. Dave Heydrick is a Kentucky-based neurologist who lives with Parkinson's disease. He has been one of the Parkinson's community's golden links between patients and physicians.

The symposium will occur at the Holiday Inn Select, Norfolk International airport. The special rate for the conference is $89 per night. If you would like to learn more about the symposium contact the Hampton Roads Chapter by calling Barb Voelkel at (757) 495-3062.
