I have to be careful with movements. If I get up from a chair, I have to do it in 2 movements. Move my body forward, stop briefly, then stand up. If I do both motions together, I get wonky.
I do it as a horizontal movement, stop, then a vertical movement. If I combine the 2, I get a rotational movement and the world spins.
I've lived with this for 30 years, since anesthesia for ankle surgery.
The vestibular therapist wants me to challenge my system with these wild movements. They just exhaust my brain with vestibular over-stimulation.
If I spend too much time turning my head side to side, I get a similar bad sensation. So, I try to avoid such movements. If I do get wonky, I know why and let it go. No injury. Just a vestibular challenge.
