Default IVIG Treatment

I was recently given my first dosage of IVIG after I was admitted to the hospital by my doctor. My insurance rejected in-home therapy and attending an outpatient facility but my doctor was able to have me admitted for 4 treatments of IVIG.

Let me tell you that after these 4 treatments, I felt like I could run through a wall. My slurred speech instantly went away, I had full tongue flexibility (as opposed to only being able to move it across 7-8 of my top teeth) and I felt as good as I had over the past 6 months.

This was surprising because I had been told that I may not see improvements for 1-2 weeks (and in some cases up to 4 weeks). However, about 10 days after treatment, my symptoms have returns and I am extremely frustrated. Can I expect a return to the improved status I had or is this just a bump in the road where I will need another treatment shortly? Unfortunately, insurance is looking to do everything in its power to prevent this from occurring.

-Frustrated and disappointed
