Hello - I have been on an 9+ month journey trying to determine what is causing my neurological issues. I'll try to keep this as concise as possible. I am a 34 year old, otherwise healthy male.

It all started about 9 months ago, I had cut my left middle finger with a knife while processing deer meat. I cleaned up the cut with Isoprophyl alcohol and bandaged it up and didn't think much about it. Within 3-4 days I noticed that my left ring and pinky finger (different nerve than the middle finger) started having a numbness sensation. The numbness persisted for a week or two, and then seemed to go away but then I started experiencing a compression/pinched feeling in my left arm funny bone area of the elbow. This pinched sensation lasted about a week or so and then I started feeling a dull achy type pain up in my left shoulder area.

The dull shoulder pain continued for the next 2-3 months, after which I also started feeling tiny spasms in my shoulder areas. The spasms then started occuring in the calf muscles of my legs. I also had noticed that I had chronic sinus congestion during this time, even though I was not experiencing a cold/upper respiratory infection.

The left shoulder pain still occurs to this day, with some days being less bothersome than others, in addition to muscle spasms in my legs, upper arms, and around only my left eyelid area, hand tremors/shaking while using hands, increased sensitivity to light in my eyes, a tearing sensation in the outside corner of my right eye, which sometimes gravitates to my left eye as well. All of these symptoms seem to be common symptoms for people with Multiple Sclerosis.

I have had quite a bit of blood tests done, some of which are CBC, Vitamin B12, Vitamin E, Zinc, Copper Serum, Methlmalonic Acid, Antinuclear Antibody (ANA) (which did test slightly positive at one point) Lyme PCR, ELISA Lyme test, and Lyme Western Blot. I know I'm missing a few others though.

In terms of imaging tests, I've had an MRI of the brain and of the Thorasic Spine, both of which had normal results, and I have another MRI scheduled for my Cervical Spine. I also had 2 EMG/Nerve Conduction studies performed of my left arm/shoulder and left leg, these were also normal. I also just had a complete eye exam, including an OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) of which I am waiting on the results.

I've seen two neurologists, a Neuro-Muscular specialist, a Lyme specialist, and an Optometrist at this point and I don't know where to turn next. The Lyme specialist seems to think I most likely do not have Lyme, but an infection called Bartonella, however I am not convinced of this yet as my symptoms generally do not match those of this infection.

I'm thinking of seeing specialists at more well know medical facilities, including Johns Hopkins, Mayo, and Cleveland Clinic but am somewhat afraid they may not have any answers either.

I have not had any kind of spinal tap to analyze the cerebrospinal fluid, not sure if a Neurologist would agree to ordering this based on the negative MRI testing, but I'm not sure what other testing I could have done. I am looking for any kind of suggestions regarding further testing, medical centers/providers who may be worth seeing and any other feedback. I appreciate it very much!
