Have a look at http://crave.cnet.com/8301-1_105-9700201-1.html or type in laptop coolers and have a look around.

Over here in the UK we don’t get hot enough for anything other than a bean bag tray
Such as http://www.sawitfirst.co.uk/content/inglesbbeanbag_tray . This is a boon for comfortable laptop work.

Hope this may help

That would make a lot of difference. Here in Santa Fe, New Mexico, when it gets hot, then the hot HOT area where I rest my hands to type... boy it is almost too hot to touch. Except now that the screen brightness has been turned down, it doesn't get that hot.

as an aside, where in London are you? I lived in Islington for 9 years. Some on Sudeley Street which is perpendicular to Regent's Canal, and some on the corner of Friend Street ( which I LOVED) and Goswell Rd.
