bacc, your doctor is probably trying to rule out other reasons for your neuro symptoms. My ANA came back negative. There are other reasons for a positive ANA; false positive, medications, even street drugs. That is why the doctor wants a re-test at some point. Hang in there and the next time you see the doctor have a list of questions ready. If by chance you do have another autoimmune problem unrelated to the rabies vaccine, that would be hard news to take, but at least you would know about it and be able to take care of it. Again, I'm no expert, but a reliable website I visited stated that all autoimmune diseases detected via ANA are treatable. It's a lot to deal with. Stay strong. When you have those moments of dark anxiety, don't be hard on yourself, be kind and patient.
