CBT, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, can help. A CBT therapist helps you learn new thoughts to repeat when responding to a trigger.
You can't just try to deny or suppress the anxiety thought. You must replace that thought with a valid though.
Bud comments about needing to remind himself of a simple concept. "Would this touch, bump, or event have caused me to pause or be anxious prior to my concussion?"
I call this struggle, Concussion Anxiety Syndrome. Some therapists are starting to see it as something that many need help with.
