You are likely suffering from whiplash. It can cause many symptoms that are the same as or similar to a concussion. Neck muscles can spasm and cause pain and headaches.

The key is to not have any lift under you head to tip your head forward. You want to sleep with your head and neck in the same position as when you are sitting upright and looking forward.

Icing your upper neck can help.
