Being able to stop drinking is a great achievement.

I have diabetes-related PN. For me, exercise seems to help. It has to be consistent and regular exercise, and you don't see the results right away. Gradually there is less numbness and less coldness.

You say you can't walk far. Maybe try the method a podiatrist suggested to me--walk a little bit one day, a little farther after a couple of days, and keep building it up until you're finding it easier to walk longer distances.

Good shoes are a must.
