ALS group recognizes efforts of 'exceptional' HBS grad
Boston Business Journal - July 27, 2007by Elizabeth CampbellSpecial to the Journal

Avichai “Avi” Kremer says his reward is seeing different ALS groups working together for a cure.

Since his diagnosis with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) three years ago, Avichai "Avi" Kremer has raised awareness and millions of dollars in Israel and the United States for research on the progressive neurodegenerative condition, commonly called Lou Gehrig's disease.

This month, Kremer's innovative approach to finding a cure prompted The ALS Association to bestow the Lawrence A. Rand Prize, one of the organization's top honors, on the 32-year-old Harvard Business School graduate and former Israeli army captain.
