Offhand, I'd say it's much too early to be concerned about ALS based on the symptoms you mention.

There are many, many causes of cramping and spasms. Many medicines and some diet deficiencies can bring them on, for instance.

I put an end to quite a few night-time cramping problems I was having by raising my potassium level. It was low or borderline for a while but now that it's up a bit, the cramps are few and far between. They were waking me up at night and very painful.

It's good to know you have an appointment with your primary care doctor. I hope that you'll get some satisfactory answers.
