I too was a teenage Canadian male and an over-achiever with aspirations in STEM. I had many hits growing up as rowdy kids do which sound like concussions in retrospect. When I was 16, I had a skiing collision and was diagnosed with a concussion. I seemed to get better in weeks to months but hit my head a few months later, then again. This has happened around 10 times, most were diagnosed as concussions but I didn't go get checked out for some. Each one seemed to be caused by a smaller acceleration and take longer to recover from. When I was 18, I fell skateboarding and it was about 3 y until I got my life back together. I was well for about a year. Then on Aug 8, I hit the back of my head on the bottom of an upper bunk of a bunk bed when standing up. It's been 10 months and I've barely left my room. My symptoms and worry seem to increase with the smallest bumps of brushing my teeth, swatting a mosquito on my temple. I just don't know what to do. Thank you for reading this.
