I was thinking about this thread. I was trying to tidy up a small garden that has lilies and something that looks like tumeric. I should dig one up and see. I love the gingers and tumerics and they grow so well here. So, I finished. It was really hot (an actual heatwave) and humid, and then the itching started. I figured it was perspiration but it was nly mild so showered and changed and hoped it'd all go away.

I have an allergy to tick bites as in anaphylactic reactions so I'm always wary when I start to itch wondering what's coming next.

Next thing I know it's 5 and I'm making dinner and my feet and lower limbs were so painful and it came on so suddenly. I just said darn I'm having a flare again! Just got over one and it seemed a bit soon.
Next morning I woke up with hives all over my inside wrists. I always carry an antihistamine with me but haven't had to use one for a bite or a tick in ages and my Melanoma immunotherapy stopped so I'm not constantly itchy from that anymore. Darn, it didn't work as it was probably too old.

I was like crazy person trying to deal with the itchy wrists. Daughter came home with the box of antihistamines (a different brand too) and it worked reasonably well. I've got ice packs on them today and I had to use the aspercreme lidocaine but I'm not sure that's even helping. Problem is can only take 1 antihistamine a day.

Great thing is the PN flare has gone after taking the antihistamine. I need to remember this for the next one.

I won't be gardening without full skin cover here again not that I should be anyway as I have lymph nodes missing on the really bad itchy arm so have to be careful this doesn't happen again.
