It's too bad that your doctor has dismissed your symptoms. Although I have no medical training, I think you should have been referred to a neurologist for a workup.
Weakness on one side can be a sign of many different conditions. It is real, not imaginary, and definitely not "attitude."
Could you find a different primary care doctor and clearly explain your symptoms as you did here? And ask for a referral to a neurologist?
