LOL, Cheri - no peeking into the oven until the cake is done
That was a beautiful poem. As a kid, I questioned the need for all the dark threads in my life. I tried in vain to remove them, but it left too many holes. I fought hard to cover them up, but they always reappeared.
I finally stopped trying to re-create his creation. Instead, I learned to cherish the dark threads as much as the light threads - to have faith that the artist knows what he's doing.
The dark threads now in my life don't belong to me. I worry about the dark threads in the world today. I wonder why so many think they are doing God's will by attempting to remove them or cover them up.
I wonder if they'll ever stop fighting and start loving each other in God's name. I wonder if they'll ever learn to TRULY love others as they love themselves - not just those who love them back or treat them with kindness.
I hope I'll see the day when people will love and respect their enemies as much as they do their own loved ones.
