Yes, it's very important to do things that keep mind and spirit in a positive place (inside and ouside).
One thing that I use to do every day is to observe my cats. It seams to me that they enjoy life very much; I like to see their faces (they do different faces all the time!) and the way they take care of themselves, of their space (of me too).
