I learned the term on the pbs forum, which was my first.
It means that some topics don't get replies, so they sink to the bottom. And maybe the person who wants to see them back up at the top doesn't have anything new to add, but wants to see them back up at the top... so they "bump" them, that is, add just enough for the system to put the post back on top...
there are a lot of smiles for this... let me go see if I have one on my smilie page...
