Default fanfaire intro

Hello! Stumbled across this site while lurking somewhere else. You know what they say about life happening to you while you're busy making other plans (it's in a John Lennon song)?

I've had neurological problems for 10 years, ever since I developed Sjogren's syndrome after a bout of antibiotic-resistant bronchitis. Only about 10 percent of Sjogren's patients develop neurological symptoms, but I was one of the lucky ones, I guess. Peripheral neuropathy, carpal tunnel, cognitive dysfunction, motor skill abnormalities, problems with speech, and oh, so much more.

I've also been blessed with fibromyalgia, which came along a couple of months later following a reaction to a medication. The combination of the two illnesses has been brutal, and I can no longer work. The other ailments appear to be along for the ride.

Am presently in a really nasty flare/exacerbation, whatever you wanna call it. Message boards are a nice distraction, but they are also pretty tiring (so is being awake, lol), so I have to limit my time on the computer. But I will try to pop in once in awhile and see if I can contribute anything worthwhile.

Looks like a really nice site! Kudos!
