Moved
Hi everyone,
Well, I moved into my new digs on Monday and am still trying to recover. I spent 45 minutes out in the hot Florida sun trying to flag down the movers....the original Dumb and Dumber. I live on a 3 X 4 mile island in public housing, they are movers and couldn't find the place.
The phone man was supposed to be here in the afternoon and when I walked up the street to watch for the movers, at 8:45AM, the phone guy was here.
The movers decided it was easier to carry over all my stuff with their handcarts as it was only 3 buildings away so I was at the old apt. and they made trips back and forth. So, I was not here to say put this here, put this there. so when they were done and I finally came over....well, my heavy microwave was in the bedroom and both window air conditioners were in the bedroom....there is only one window in the bedroom!! I'm slowly getting things put away. I was without A/C for 3 days waiting for maintenance to come install them and with heat index, it was like 100 degrees out. It was miserable and luckily, I have 3 fans.
Good news is that they didn't destroy any of my electronics, both A/cs still work and I won a 1 1/2 year battle with Medicaid because when Medicare D began, they took away my full Medicaid which I needed for transportation to specialists in Miami (135 miles) as there are none in the Keys and I needed my eye care back. Finally after 1 1/2 years, I found a federal law that proved they took it away from me illegally 4 weeks ago and now have my full Medicaid with my Medicare, etc. It pays not to give up.
