well you got me wondering about this now- here's some stuff I found about it.

http://www.guard-privacy-and-online-...y-deleter.html
a section from the above site
[[We can also manage Internet history using our browser by setting it either not to store information or to delete our information when the browser closes. We'll look at how to do that for the two most popular browsers, Internet Explorer and Firefox...

Internet Explorer
For Internet Explorer 7 (IE), just,

* click on 'Tools'
* then 'Internet Options'
* then 'General'
* then 'Browsing history settings'

By altering 'Days to keep pages in history' to zero, your history will not be stored.

Firefox
In Firefox, click on,

* 'Tools'
* 'Options'
* then 'Privacy'

Under 'Private Data', check the box 'Always clear my private data when I close Firefox'.

For options on what private data can be erased, click on 'settings' opposite the box. For instance, you can remove browsing and download history, cookies and even more... pretty good, eh?

]]

for IE

still looking to see if this applies to all other browsers{Firefox??} or just IE
