Thumbs up

Okay, I was thinking of a different one in Colorado alongside a stream. Ooooowweeeee, did Geneva LOVE Aspen!!

This one was in Monument Valley. It was my birthday present vacation. We had 4 days to drive to Arizona to surprise my MIL on her birthday, which falls the day before mine. She and I and VERY close.

We had a HUGE feast on her birthday. Mom provided her signature dish, others brought what they could. My SIL's husband is a gourmet chef, so he provided the Birthday Cake - which was a wide variety of pies to pick and choose from.

We then sat around the fire outside patting our bellies, telling stories, and laughing.

We headed out the next morning, and I got MY surprise. Instead of the usual way back, hubby took me through the Colorado Rockies (had never been there).

This photo is very special to me because I grew up in the city. I've ALWAYS wanted to stand outside and hear nothing - total absolute silence.

We stopped here to watch the sunset and let Geneva stretch her legs a little. At one point, the dog in the background stopped barking, the airplane flew away, traffic was nowhere in sight, and the wind stopped dead silent.

Ray and I looked at each other and soaked it all in. When it was over, we busted out laughing.

I tell ya, that man really knows how to shop!!!

Dorrie - YEP! We had to get a king-sized bed because every time there was a thunderstorm, we'd end up clinging to the side of the bed with her tossing and turning all night. If she gets any bigger, we might have to just pad the bedroom sleep on the floor together.
