Update on my mom. The manipulation that day did not work, of course, anesthesia and trauma for nothing. I put in a call to her Ortho Dr. and he call me first thing that Monday morning, telling me he was not made aware of the dislocation over the weekend. He said he will be taking her to surgery that week, and trying to manipulate it back in, if he couldn't do it, he would make an incision and do it that way, and speculated that it became dislocated in transport...

After being on the OR schedule for several days, it was finally done last Thursday, under anesthesia, and with an incision. I notice much more confusion now when I talk to her, my poor mom...there is only so much her body/mind is going to be able to handle.

I fly there tomorrow morning with my daughter for 3 days. She will still be in the hospital supposidly undergoing intense rehab, she hasn't been verticle since before the hip surgery 2 months ago. I will be flying back on Sunday, here for a week, then back up for a month. I am assured by the ortho that she will be back at her nursing home by then (I made that perfectly clear, they can handle her there for any rehab), and she can rehabilitate there, with my help.

My hopes is that once back at the home, she will have emotional stability, her own stuff there, her friends, and more motivation to get up and get moving, right now, she really doesn't want to, it hurts, and she really doesn't know she can. She is eating on her own...no permanent feeding tube...which I knew we didn't need...

I will post an update after my visit.
