Hi,

This is a fascinating possiblity for us all. There has already been a man made version of the Conus Magus sea snail toxin developed in Japan and available as PRIALT. This is being used In Britain and here in Australia, I am not sure about the USA. It is of course very expensive making it an less viable option of pain relief for most people.
Our University of Queensland ( the Conus Magus is found off our Great Barrier Reef) has the toxin developed to animal testing stage, hoping that human testing is not too far away.
Imagine a pain relieving drug that works by blocking calcium channels that transmit pain stimuli that is up to 1000 times more effective than Morphine, but without many of the Morphine side effects. Something for many us to look forward to.
