Default Were home! Level 1 testing

Well we are home from Austins testing.

We arrived on Monday after he was admitted he immediatly went for an MRI and ten he was checked into his room and the EEG probs were put on, this was harcd for Austin and he was frustrated by not being able to go where he wanted to and being hooked up to the machine. We were in the room maybe 1 hour then neuropsych came in to test him I was kicked out and wait in the lobby for about 3 hours, after this we just sat around and waited.

He was sleep deprived the whole time he was there he was allowed to sleep from 3am-6am in the morning, then when he woke up they gave him sudafed to hopeful make him have seizures. He finally had seizures on Wednesday night. He asked for an exercise bike and he rode it for 10 minutes straight and as soon as he got off the bike and sat on the bed he finally had a seizure. The first lasted almost 2 minutes and as soon as he came out of the seizure he had a huge grin on his face and he announced " I did it I did it, now can I go to sleep?", they told him they wanted him to have 2 more seizure, within the hour he had 2 more 1 lasting 45 seconds and then next over 2 minutes 15 seconds. They were pretty nervous after the third an announced, Im going to call his doctor, they came back in the room within 5 minutes and said he needs to take his medicine now, do you have it with you, I said yes, they said he needs to take it right now, if he has another seizure at all we need to give him diastat. So he took his meds and then went right to sleep.

Oh and on the 2nd day we got to have an MEG test it was pretty cool they did a bunch of memory and language testing. We should get the results soon and the information we need. The nurses were so awesome and truly spoiled Austin while we were there and worked hard to make him happy and keep him occupied.

Thanks to everyone who sent there well wishes and advice....
