Aloha!
Hey Allen, buddy....pal, I'm here. All accounted for.
So I don't have to post twice, I read your other post just now on SS. I'm so freaking relieved that you've finally prevailed in court. I am going to do the "happy dance." Hula?
Yes, I made my 1st trip to "America"...since 2000. A dear friend of mine had been sick for a couple of years. They moved off island and then only two months later he suddenly passed away. I just couldn't miss the memorial as we were like family. So being close to my girlfriend during this most difficult time was most important.
But....there were many highlights of my trip. At the top of the list was seeing my Father. I haven't seen him in 4 years...since they finally sold their home on Maui. And, of course meeting Stephen and Deb...geez, talking with another person who has RSD is just amazing. There was no doubt that Stephen understood me and visa versa. I know that we've been friends for many years, but this took the cake. Next of course, was the shopping in Oregon as there is no sales tax....yipee! And boy did I shop. I even had to start sending things home so I wouldn't be overweight as Oregon was my 1st leg of my trip. lol. Condor and Deb are delightful and I especially loved their precious pup "Bo" who embellished me with all the kisses I needed until I got to my next stop which was my Dads. I missed my Babies soooo much Bo and the hospitality of Stephen and Deb were exactly what I needed. I will never forget the vision you guys looking out and seeing the tall tree's. I love Oregon...Quack...Quack. Sorry.
Jose, we have some catching up to do. I'm glad that you are home safe and sound from your jaunt to college with your son. I sure do hope that upon your arrival back home that things are still in one place as you left them, the animals, especially Oscar.
I do keep in touch with mostly everybody you've mentioned. Recently heard from Deb3674 as we were actually going to try to meet up when I stayed in San Fran, but she's actually further south then I was, and my time-schedule just ran out.
Gigglebabe, my buddy and dear friend. She is doing well considering, like us, been dealing with the ups and downs of RSD. Let's see if I have this right, her eldest graduates this year and the youngest next year. Hmmm. My memory is awful...I blame it on the topomax and the oodles of other crap I take. laffs.
In any event, Allen, about me, I'm still sitting here doing my Thang on our beautiful island. Come on by and see us sometimes. The water is grand. And if your wonderful wife doesn't like to fly like me, take a cruise. Ok, it's not cheap! But nothing is nowadays.
But, ask Condor where to stay he will tell you his favorite spot....and I will agree with him everytime anybody asks me. So don't dream...just surprise your lovely Wife with a Cruise...
Business is good here. I am still working part-time. We are still bringing in oodles of Mushrooms from the bay area of Cali.
I have been feeling ok. I too have my ups and downs. I have come to realization that life with RSD is just life with RSD. It ain't no picnic.
I stopped smoking while I was on the mainland. Tomorrow will be one month exactly. I'm very excited now to be a non-smoker. For those of you who want to know how...Chantix is the med. And the book I read was written by Allen Carr...who smoked 100 cigs a day.
Can I brag now? Can I? Can I? Condor and Emily's Gamma (aka Claudia) Quack...Quack...!!! Oregon Ducks..beat Michigan. #9 of the Oregon Ducks is my daughters boy friend. And I'm very sorry to anybody who is from Michigan, or from Houston..or Fresno (next game)...lol.
Anyways...isn't catching up grand? Allen, Condor, Jose and the rest of you oldies but goodies ...have a great day and maybe I'll try to be a tad more active.
With aloha,
Dana.
