Hi from Chamfab
I am impressed with information I have seen on this forum. I have had trigeminal neuralgia since 2002 but my latest flare up has now lasted one year of constant type 2 burning pain on the left side of my face from center part of my hair to my chin including half my tongue, nose, teeth and eye. I have used tegretol and it wore off after a few months. Now I am on 600 mg of lyrica and that too is starting to wear off. I have had a MRI and will find out about it this Thursday from a neurologist at Mt. Sinai Hospital. I am very sensitive to cold and am dreading fall and winter. Last winter was a nightmare with avoiding the cold air outside, cold air in grocery stores fridgerated areas and breezes from just walking down a hall. I have 3 idential fleece hats that tie under my chin, just leaving my eyes and nose exposed. Sometimes I have to sleep with this hat on due to cold air hitting my face. I can eat most of the time without pain, lucky me, but can't hug, talk on the phone on my left side etc.. I have long hair and when it touches my face I get pain, if I put it back, I get pain. Sometimes, just blinking my eye or moving it causes pain. Glad to hear I am not alone and have access to great information.
Gratefully yours,
Chamfab (Trish was taken)
