Haldol IS scary! It was the first med my kids' father was prescribed for his TS, and he soon refused all meds because of it! He also did not want to get a dx for our daughter (who is OCD, ADHD, and tics) at the time because he worried that she would be placed on Haldol. Only after we separated did she get diagnosed, and recently our son was diagnosed with TS as well. So far, no meds for my son and only clonidine for my daughter. The scary thought is that the one experience with Haldol was so bad as to cause him to fear even diagnosis!
