It sounds as if your friend may need a new neurologist. This sounds like Myasthenia but if her doctor feels it is not from the Myasthenia then he better explain what it is from. There is a Myasthenia board here as so nicely put for you above my post. I have M.G. The one thing I have learned is.... you need a doctor very, very familiar with Myasthenia who treats many patients with this disease and who will listen. Sometimes this is not an easy task. I have been to some neurologists, some who had deemed themselves neuro muscular experts and I found out the hard way, in the end I would not send my dog to them. So maybe give us more of your friends story, what meds,treatments. Its great your a good friend to her. I will pull up some links about M.G. for you. There is a lot to learn. For now maybe your friend can go on soft foods that dont require much chewing.
