It sounds as if your friend may need a new neurologist. This sounds like Myasthenia but if her doctor feels it is not from the Myasthenia then he better explain what it is from. There is a Myasthenia board here as so nicely put for you above my post. I have M.G. The one thing I have learned is.... you need a doctor very, very familiar with Myasthenia who treats many patients with this disease and who will listen. Sometimes this is not an easy task. I have been to some neurologists, some who had deemed themselves neuro muscular experts and I found out the hard way, in the end I would not send my dog to them. So maybe give us more of your friends story, what meds,treatments. Its great your a good friend to her. I will pull up some links about M.G. for you. There is a lot to learn. Meds not to go near, symptoms to look for etc. Best wishes.ps there maybe someone on board who knows someone good in your state. Also others can help with more posting about the disease. For now maybe your friend can go on soft foods that dont require much chewing.
