I dealt with mild edema and swelling for almost 2 years while taking amantadine. Since the problem was minor and I was receiving benefits from it, my neurologist just kept a check on it. Once we decided it was no longer beneficial, I titrated down - the first week I went from 3 x's a day to 2 x's a day. The next week I went to 1 a day, and the third week I stopped completely.
