Default Liver problems related to Celiac Disease

Hi to all, it has been so long since I posted over here. This was such a lifesaver for me back in 2003 when I first found my B12 deficiency with the help of Rose!

You are right about the autoimmune part and I am wondering if Mr. B might have some issues with gluten. Here are a couple of sites that talk about Celiac Disease (which is an autoimmune disease) and Liver problems.

Celiac.com 04/27/2006 - Liver abnormalities have been found in a high percentage of celiacs when first diagnosed, around 42% according to some studies. Gluten toxicity and increased intestinal permeability have both been suspected as a cause of liver abnormalities. Serious liver disorders, including cirrhosis, have been found in association with a number of celiac disease cases which appear to resolve upon treatment and maintaining a gluten-free diet.

I am not sure but I think somewhere a while back someone mentioned that Source natural B12 had gluten in it. If you are having an absorption problem, this may be the cause of your B12 not increasing.

Hope this helps.
