Hi Rhoda and Jo....

I have congenital scoliosis and spina-bifida, along with a host of other spinal anomalies. The scoliosis is considered to be severe....42 and 58 degrees, but it's not as noticeable as one would think...I guess I curve in all the right places! LOL. But you're both right, I also tend to place the scoliosis way down on the list. I'm 48, with an active six y/o son....I've learned to choose my battles, and I suppose the scoliosis is the least of my worries.

Do either of you have hardware to correct/support the spine? I had Herrington rods from '69 to '87...went 16 years without anything, and then had titanium rods put in in '03. I'm wired for sound, let me tell ya...from the crack of dawn to the upper thorasic...two rods on either side, and two 3 in. screws in each vertebra. I'm hoping that the extra support will serve to minimize any age-related problems with my spine, but everything has an expiration date, doesn't it?

I hope you're both having lo/no pain days. Nice to meet you.
