Some medications deplete nutrients. So with time a deficiency can develop.

Also the kidneys can change, and excretion may be effected.

The use of some other meds may interfere with metabolism in the liver.

Your body may change....some people adjust to medications and they lose
their effect. This may be due to receptors changing, increasing.

Drugs are very complex... I don't think our medical science understands the half of how they work, when they release them upon us.
