I'm happy that they are doing something.

In my state there was a huge backlog. I filed in July 2004, filed appeal to ALJ in February 2005 and finally had my hearing in August 2007.

However, just because you have your hearing and are awarded SS does not mean that you are going to receive the monthly payment or the backpay for awhile.

I know of two instances, one awarded in December 2006 and the other in February 2007 and they have to receive any monthly payment or any of the backpay. They have the State Representatives and Congressmen looking into it.

I have been to the local SS office and they tell me mine is at the payment center, I also know that they have my income wrong for 2002 which was correct on the last earning statement that I received from SS. It is noted on the print out they gave me that "POSSIBLE DUPLICATE POSTED FICA EARNINGS FOR: 2002"

I have been back to the local ss with my 2002 tax return, 2002 w-2's and last Social Security Earnings Statement that I received - they said to wait and see what the payment center comes up with.

So after waiting two and a half years on the ADL hearing I am anticipating waiting awhile longer on ever receiving SS - but I plan on bugging them to death atleast once a week if not more until I receive it.
