Dont know if insurance will cover. I got a strip of mine from the PT. I started using it about 1 month after surgery.

I have had it on at 2 docs appts and they both commented on how well the scar looked and wrote it down.

The nice thing is its reusable for about one month and the sheet is big enough that it supplies several strips.

I just ordered more from Amazon.
