depending on the skin
and how much pigment you have, veins can be prominent or not.
I used to have a huge varicose vein in my right leg, but it cleared up and actually faded, after I used a potent antioxidant, Yerba Mate tea, for 6mos.
It was very bad around my knee (the bad knee).
I drink green tea and black tea instead of coffee. I also eat alot of antioxidant rich foods (red peppers, pomegranate, etc).
I think if you are very pale, the veins show more.
I am 60 (almost 61) and my veins still do not show. I am a nightmare for giving blood samples. Even my hands have no veins showing(except for one vein going up from my ring finger! )
Alot may be due to genetics.
