I saw a science show recently which said, based on the human genome
, within 10 yrs, doctors can tailor their treatments based on the results of genetic testing.
Now, we can prevent horrible side effects from drugs by adjusting dose for those who cannot metabolize certain ones properly. That is if they are tested.
A recent example is Crestor. This drug was released into the population with no warnings. Right away within a year there were injuries based on metabolic profile. It carries a warning now for people of Asian decent, and I believe all people should be tested before being given this dangerous statin!
