Appreciate This Site
I am thankful that I found this site and that it allows us to express ourselves without treating us like naughty children.
There is another forum that I posted in that absolutely shocked me when I read my post. Someone said (s)he was afraid of getting shots and I answered that it helps to relax when anticipating the prick of a needle. To my amazement the word prick was shown as *****. Huh?!
That word is listed in my dictionary with several definitions and not one of them are vulgar, so why the censorship? Methinks someone needs a better understanding of the English language. I was using the word properly, not in the slang sense.
I thought I was being helpful to someone - instead my answer just looked silly.
With the exception of one person, everyone on every board I have ever visited has been sensitive in regards to the contents in their postings.
Sorry to ramble on here, but seeing those *****s instead in my post really bothered me.
To the Brain Talk moderators: Thank you, thank you, thank you for treating us as thoughtful, mature adults.
Regards, Lil
