I've been in the same situation as you're in and facing the first Epidural. I think that you're handling yours quite well - asking questions and being honest about how you feel. Ain't nothing wrong with that, that's for sure.
Maybe... just a thought... and because you also mentioned in a post about wanting to help your Mom and thinking of others can do that... She wouldn't mind being with you and your son a couple days before and after your procedure. It might give you a chance to sleep when you're able and your son would still have someone to talk with while you get some sleep.
I hate for people to be in pain, and I really hope that you get much pain relief after your ESI.
I definitely want to know how it turns out for you.
