It has been ages it seems. It is nice to see so many I have known and so many new members here.

I registered some time ago but have not been here to post. Not a whole lot new going on for a person in spinal woes for more then eighteen years. Me thinks all have given up on me. lol But...that's just life. For me anyway. I am non operable and have had to learn to deal. Some weeks are worse then others. At times I have to rely on a wheelchair at other times I can walk short distances. One just never knows what the next day may bring huh?

Anyone heard from our dear Dawnbugs? I have wondered how she is doing.

Gene I read your post about Holly. I am so sorry this has happened to her. Can I give you a word of advice?

When I was very little, a man tried to molest me. I was only five. He caught me in my backyard also and he put his hand down my pants while trying to take me into a garage. I was quite the little screamer and fighter and got away. He went to prison. For years after, I dreamed of this man chasing me, and just when he reached out his arms to grab me, I floated up in the clouds out of his reach and to safety. Please consider getting Holly some therapy, to help her address what has happened to her. She was afraid to tell you, she must certainly have some feelings about this that she should not be having.

On to my little munchkins...

Emily has been doing great with the exception of her losing some walking ability. She can still walk but can not go the distance she used to. The wheelchair is her friend on outings now.

Nolan has had some great difficulties. He has had shunt failures four times in the past eighteen months. He will be going into the hospital the first week of November to have a third ventricalostomy. There is only a fifty percent chance that this surgery will work for him, however right now, we have a little boy who is always sick, always has spinal headaches, and always feels like he has to throw up. If the surgery works, he may no longer need a shunt. We are being optimisic about the surgery. You know, we look at the glass half full rather then half empty. I am not impressed with the percentages of it working, but it is a risk that we must take at this point.
He had tibial osteotomies ten weeks ago. One leg has healed the other, there is non union. He will have to face having a fusion in that leg once he has recuperated from the brain surgery.

It is never ending for this poor little munchin it seems.

My own problems, as always, feel so trivial in comparison.
