Two of the things suggested on these websites:
(1) Wearing either cotton or wool clothing (no synthetics).
(2) Always wear a metal thimble on your finger (or carry a metal key) to touch to metal before you touch anything with your hand. Or knock your knuckles (less pain receptors in your knuckles) against something before you touch it with the other parts of your hand.
If I were you, I'd be curious to see if some of these 'simpler' techniques worked to alleviate some of the problem.
You might to post over on the Chronic Pain forum. I don't think that there's anyone here with the EXACT same set of problems as you, but, we sure do understand chronic pain and loss of function.
